Lanwil as an Australian I agree with your sentiment. But as a shareholder the is I want a good return for my investment in the company and I will get a better return if the factory is built in Malaysia not Australia. Unfortunately because of the differential in labour costs the two ideals are mutually exclusive.
But to add to kongg's comment, when the company starts to turn a profit the taxes it pays will go to the Australian government so Australia does receive a dividend in the long run.
