I'm not sure if this is just you being racist or naive. I surfed with plenty of Chinese and Japanese surfers in Taiwan at the start of this year (in Taitung, sadly was hammered by a typhoon last week).
While there are not a lot of breaks in mainland China. Chinese people travel everywhere and they have just as diverse tastes as Australians...
