As a racing fan, and in the name of accuracy I can't let it go uncorrected.

Piping Lane was a gelding not a mare.... and won the 1972 Melbourne Cup ( not 1973 - won by Gala Supreme) beating the great Gunsynd.

Also, Adelaide (winner of the 2014 Cox Plate at Moonee Valley) was a colt not a mare.

You seem to have trouble identifying the sex of horses don't you ? I mean....it's not THAT hard.
