To be fair, the fact that so many posters found it to be believable reflects very badly on the reputation of the United Nations.
The UN is a puppet of the USA, so Saudi Arabia (protector of the petrodollar) was appointed to head a UNHCR (human rights) panel. Maybe they chopped off a few more heads to celebrate.
