no offence about this market cap bull @#$%. There are lots of companies that are worth more than what they should, its not for us to decide which company would have a bigger market cap than others. Sure if every companies were evaluated the same way and people invest accordingly then sure that may help.
Companies go up and down on what? reasons:
- investors want a piece of the action
- different people have different views on the companies
- the future outlook and the projects in the pipeline
- valuations are only as good as what people are willing to pay
