A view on SNE value:
1. COP are selling their deep water assets because they have a view on oil price that is lower for longer.
2. While there is undoubtedly a huge oil-in-place for SNE, the recovery factor and economics of the oil in the thinly bedded upper sands in particular, where most of the volume lies is highly uncertain. This may be another reason for the lower than expected value.
Mr Market has spoken and has said that SNE is worth about 7c/share to FAR.
