Benbradley, even Iran has back-tracked miles on the extent to which law is independent of religion. However, they are NOT Australia!

As for Australia, there's a mountain of evidence for the abuse of our law making processes due to the religious beliefs held by the likes of Tony Abbott and Cory Bernadi. For example; the manner in which they have worked overtime to deny rights to LGBTI people, the imposition of religious chaplains on our secular public school system and the public funding of elitist religious schools.

In contrast to the manner in which so-called Christians have corrupted our national Parliament, I'm unaware of any such parallel by Muslim politicians, thereby indicating that in Australia Islam is indeed separate from government.
