HC, i do agree with you that I see very little chance of Gina Lopez signing off on any new mining permit to anyone, and not only for RTG. GRC needs a new ECC and they should be in a tough bind pretty soon. Even OGPI seems to be having a rough patch lately.

Even her own family's quarrying operations have been transferred to a totally new company a few weeks back, albeit with long enough permits

But I think she has pissed off quite a few major players lately that there are enough sharp knives out there for her to get rejected during her confirmation hearing. It doesnt take a whole lot of votes to totally reject her. And enough suspects in the room to point to just one guy. The average miner on the street doesnt give her much chance of lasting past 2016. Window of opportunity? Maybe... lets see

I have watched a lot of foreign companies go thru various phases in the Philippines. From Placer Dome, Lafayette, TVI, BHP, Indophil, CGA, Oceanagold, Indophil, MBMI, MML, GRC, among others. No two stories are alike and some seem to be more prepared than others in dealing with bad cards.

RTG have in-country experience, which is good. But they started off with an MPSA right off the bat at Masbate. They seem to catch on pretty quick though.

Bunawan Mining's President, Max, probably lives a few blocks away from you. I am sure he has more insights on how RTG is managing the local issues. The next time I am in Marco Polo, maybe we can pull him over and swap war stories over a few beers. If we are lucky, maybe Sec. Sonny Dominguez can share some insights to us too..

    Cheers, mate !
