I agree, he is not stupid so he has an ulterior motive. So-as to remain unbiased his intention is to draw out the most extreme views of his panel, via a biased audience in an attempt to create a gotcha moment. Of course ratings are the motive, and with ratings he assures his elitist position within the ABC, and generous salary. In effect it is not a bad tactic to get people to react to extreme views as it shows their mettle. In Pauline Hansen's case it only enhances here reputation within the section of the population that either agree with her views or act on them. At least she does verbalise what is on her mind and many will respect her for that even though they may not totally agree with her opinion, but that's life in general. On a side note our very own christian churches are all very silent on the islam issue, I can't but feel they are complicit in the rise of islam by not denouncing islam in their own churches. Maybe someone of a religious background can shed some light on this as they are becoming conspicuous by their absence in the debate!
