Info share from OEL thread. The Bivouac Peak prospect is a very attractive exploration play and hopefully will be a sizeable discovery come Q1 2017.
With the Bivouac Peak Prospect adjacent (within 11 kms) to nearby production, in my view this further de-risks the prospect.![]()
BATEMAN LAKE FIELD
Sourced from ECCO Energy Corp. (October 2007)
Letter of Intent to Acquire 3,000 acres in St. Mary Parish LA.
“This lease is located in the prolific Bateman Lake Field which has produced over 150 Bcf gas (>25 Mmboe). We believe there are 7 wells that can be immediately reworked with at least 5 Bcf of proven reserves. We further believe that the new drill potential is unlimited based on 3D seismic and success of drilling the new wells.”
BELLE ISLE FIELD (Sourced from AAPG: America Associated of Petroleum Geologists: Information is somewhat dated though)
From discovery in 1941 until 1956, Belle Isle was primarily an oil-producing field, largely limited to sands between 8,000 and 8,500 feet. From 1956 through 1966, flank gas reservoirs were being developed in zones between 10,000 – 18,000 feet. As of 1969, there were 36 oil wells and 38 gas wells. To January 1969, the field had produced 20 million barrels of oil and condensate and 338 Bcf gas. Daily production during January 1970 averaged 280MMcfd gas (68 completions) and 6,500 barrels of oil and condensate per day from 55 completions.
BIVOUAC PEAK
After reviewing the production performance of the Dutch-Mary Rose gas field (offshore), located some 50kms south west of the Bivouac Peak prospect, my in confidence in Bivouac Peak being a success both technically and commercially is growing. Dutch and Mary Rose were discovered in 2006 and 2007 respectfully by Contango Oil and Gas and in the 2014/2015 period had daily production of 50.5 million cubic feet (gas) equivalent per day (8,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day). Below is some information on Dutch-Mary Rose sourced from the Contango Oil and Gas website which may be of interest to OEL holders. I've found virtually nothing on the Little Bay Field or Atchafalaya Bay Deep Field which of course are even closer to Bivouac Peak.
