Everyone likes to see a share price go up but if you are holding for the medium term, short term fluctuations really don't mean very much and I would prefer an announcement when there is something meaningful to say (as opposed to regular announcements intended to prop up the share price).

Management should continue to focus on the business. An update to shareholders is mandated where they have something significant to say (positive or negative). The absence of an announcement to me says everything is progressing in line with prior communications.
