IMO this is why the ST trading approach is the best strategy for approaching this end of the market. 99% of stocks are dog stocks, with very little ever going on to be a great business.
Falling in love with a stock/going long is full of potential pitfalls when investing in speculative stocks. So many things can go wrong, and when they market moves on, you can be left with a large loss on your hands
To me, it's best to follow the flavour of the month/trend, lock in the profits early (don't obsess with the "what if it goes higher" question), reinvest the profits, compound your overall portfolio wealth and keep the cycle going.
