Then why say one thing on multiple occasions in the first place, only to welch later on?

If Mal had of called it like it is, then he wouldn't have said on multiple occasions he would support Rudd.

Turnbull shouldn't have said he would support Rudd and then welched, no matter how you look at it, it reflects badly on Turnbull.
