Average Joe;
My mentor told me when I got my first job:
"A degree is a piece of paper that says you are intelligent enough for me to train you, knowing I'm not gonna waste my time .... but know this - you really know nothing."
The second thing he told me was:
"A university degree will not make you rich but will give you a good passage though life."
I was younger then, and I'm not sure those "truths" hold any longer. Anyone can pay to get a degree, no OP required to get into any course, and many of my degree qualified friends are out of work.
I like Greg Mannarino 's teachings these days (an ex-doctor):
"Forget everything you have been told about going to school, getting a degree, good job, be productive, etc.... That no longer works in this economy, if you want to make money just play the markets"
Unfortunately he's right.....
