Any shareholders can communicate or meet with company execs, nothing illegal or shonky about that, fund managers and analysts do it as a matter of course. Bigger companies usually have a front person or a communications dept to handle these requests/events but smaller companies don't for obvious reasons. I have often contacted companies with a request for info or to raise a complaint. I don't see why it is such a big deal to you as a non holder.
