This. So much passionate rubbish lately. Chinese prefer the DSO nickel in bulk because they refine on the spot and produce the "pig iron" steel. Its an entire section of their manufacturing and very important to the economy. Requires the laterite style nickel to feed not the high grade massive sulfide style.
Lets try an analogy.....You have to lay down new grass for a large area (say 1000 square metres) of parkland. Why would you go buy the premium grass when the cheap stuff will accomplish the same thing at this scale and still be within regulations. Thats the demand driver. If the cheap stuff is unavailable for whatever reason they will wait until it is again to purchase (not purchase high grade as it is not cost effective). If the cheap stuff only comes from one source then that source can charge a premium, but it is still cheaper than the high grade. Everyone wins.
Obvious and useless post but somebody out there needed it broken down to kindergarden level.
