My understanding and the reason I'm holding Wangle: They have claimed to successfully created & tested an algorithm that compresses data efficiently. This dramatically increases speed and lowers bandwidth usage - something we sorely need - because data is smaller.
This patented algorithm works with services that transfer data - like VPNs, VOIP networks, hardware etc.
Personally, I couldn't give a toss about VPNs. However, Wangle wouldn't necessarily have to work against other VPNs but instead be licensed out to work -with- their products, like Google apps on iOS.
My view is Rom's post is like comparing Google's search algorithm to how Bing's webpage looks.
However, we only know for sure what we've been told. The rest is noise.
