I guess its like bidding on Ebay, the proven best strategy is to come in as late as possible with a good bid. Bidding early just encourages a price war.
If someone bids now for HDR they just encourage other bidders including Tullow to come in over the top. Making a solid bid late in the day will get someone HDR lock stock and barrel if they want it.
