Stupid Census comments, page-18

The 2016 Census is just yet another headache for Turnbull.

I think everyone can agree that Malcolm Turnbull has got massive obstacles ahead of him in the next/current parliament.

He faces battles on passing legislation with the slim majority he has (as Bob Katter said: "no one can go to the bathroom, Nan's funeral or travel")

He faces a lynch mob of angry past MP's who lost their seats and are fuming about it.

He faces many in the right faction who are still, clearly, livid about Abbott being toppled and in my opinion are still causing a lot of destabilization for Turnbull. One only needs to listen to The Contributions of Abbott and Abetz on Four Corners about NSW Liberal 'factions' to see how bitter some of them still are.

And this is all BEFORE & DURING having to fight Labor & other parliamentarians.

Then he faces the possibility of global unrest with South China Sea debacle which could escalate, the possibility of a Trump presidency, Iran, Nth Korea, Russia/Putin & ongoing fallouts from Brexit (and this is just to name a few).

Then there's the large cross bench who will each have various demands and negotiating with some of them may prove difficult considering early indications are showing that the govt is already starting to get some of them offside. Cross benchers we know will have some rather big demands that Turnbull will either have to cave into or say no. Large consequences for him in both scenarios. If he caves he risks disenfranchising more of his party. If he says no, will he have the numbers to pass bills? In the last parliament Chris Pyne and others proved to be completely hopeless at negotiating with the cross benchers and instead only assisted in hardening the resolve of many of the cross benchers from the last parl to their opposition of Bills.

Then the budget deficit. I am very skeptical that any progress will be made on the budget deficit front because a big amount of energy and time will go into just surviving politically in my opinion. Will the tough big needed reforms given the makeup of the current parl be pursued with vigor? It only takes one or two liberal nationals to go independent & Turnbull could be in deep trouble.

It is going to be an ugly 3 years in Australian politics comming up in my opinion. And I think the knives are well and truly out for Turnbull. Andrews Abetz Bernardi & Abbott will make sure of that.

You know what Abbott said on that 4 Corners show on Monday. He wants to be "a constructive contributor" to the liberal party. What rubbish. He wants back on the front bench!
