The methodology in the article is flawed.
Guys like Asafa Powell and Frankie Fredericks never won individual gold in the 100 metres at the Olympics. Nor did Ato Boldon or Yohann Blake. They wern't champions.
The article conveniently leaves out Donovan Bailey who ran his best 100 metre time 4 months short of his 29th birthday and his best 200 6 months short of his 31st birthday.
Also doesn't mention Alan Wells, who was the oldest 100 metre olympic champion in history.
