"In September 2013, GE-Hitachi submitted an application to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to obtain a license for the facility. The application seeks permission by November 2016 to build and operate a new laser enrichment facility on or near the Paducah site."

"The US Department of Energy (DOE) will be funding the project with US$324 million."
