Your mistake is when it isn't "too early" you will be paying multiples of the current price. Risk and cheap tickets are the two main attributes that you will be taking on for being early to a party. Risk that the party will never get going, but when if it does get cranking and you paid $10 for a $100 show you will feel pretty damn happy with yourself. I think most here acknowledge the risk/reward ratio and are comfortable with their decision. You obviously can't handle it and should go play in the big end of town where a dramatic day is 3-5% movement.
