FAR's intention is to capitalize on this find, the same as CNE without aiming for one outcome or another in the short term.
As to having failed the SHs if they don't P/E is quite a statement. They might not be able to pull it off, but it would not for lack of trying. I would not call this a failure. The oil space still is not healthy yet and all big oilers are still suffering. To P/E with PE is also fraught with problems. We have to trust our management somewhat.

The forum gets whipped up into a frenzy off the back of these crazy rumours and then nothing?

The SP doesn't budge.
Not a peep out of management.
Its not a good look.
