It is plain you have never been an employer where several staff decide to take a "sickie" on the same day...usually on a Monday or a Frday funnily enough...and you still need to get a job done? Call a Labor Hire Company.

Or you have a staff of two and one wants to take four weeks leave therefore you need to fill the position for a month as you can't function without two people assisting...what do want an employer to do? Start another fulltime person then "let them go" when the other comes back?

What about the company that receives a couple of 40' containers of product on the same day and has to get them unloaded asap or will be paying demurrage on the container until empty...employ another couple of full time staff for two days work?

Many people also only want casual work, they don't want full time work...Labour Hire companies have a role to play as well...many unemployed people who want work will register with same and get regular work where they would otherwise get nothing. Plus it gives some people the opportunity to try out different types of work helping them decide on a career course. It is not unusual or uncommon for a person from employed from a Labour Hire company to be offered full time work due to their attitude...
