In this previous post I noted Holes 44-46 as being different. I have been wondering why this orientation? One possibility is that these holes are targeting plunging mineralization.
If this is the case then the grid E-W drilling may be one of the reasons interpretation is so difficult especially as a lot of it has been RC. Even with oriented diamond core it could be difficult to pick the plunge. The cartoon on the side of the annotated drill location diagram may give some idea of what I am trying to describe Excuse drafting.
Maybe I am clutching at straws with this speculation.
However, the following photo is of an actual case where a plunging ore body was found some 15 years later between two prior drill holes 120m apart. This discovery probably tipped the Gossan Hill deposits from being on the shelf for 10-15 years to being a mine.
The photo shows two drill rigs targeting the same plunging deposit! Working out an appropriate orientation to drill even such a small 'pencil like' target as this was very tricky.
