Yeh well thats the Liberal fed govt for you, development at almost any cost. They got elected five years ago on being seen to be tough on illegal immigrants which was all a show as nearly all of the Tampa boat people eventually got visas. Now, after ten years of neglecting training young Australians for jobs, they are opening the flood gates to foreign workers to fill vacancies while there are still plenty of untrained Aussies unemployed or underemployed. Deceitfully the govt changed the way unemployment figures are calculated to make it look like unemployment has fallen when in reality the ghettos of unemployed/underemployed are still there. They allow anyone in who signs a work contract, never mind whether they might fit in or not and grant them citizenship after four years of work. Then Costello and others whinge about many not assimilating, talk about hypocritical. Dave R.
