I think likely most brokers wont allow it. Maybe just one or two, not so scrupulous ones are allowing it.

Saying that. Its part of my research to keep track of. And yes there have been instances where a few shares in xpe were shorted. But although most days I find there are small amounts (about 50k shares currently) being shorted. It was mostly at 11.5 someone shorted the stock for over 1% of the company total. So they likely made a bit.

I find it unethical. So I never ever short a stock. That and the infinite amount of risk involved.

But I'm well aware when other people are doing it.
