My only experience with employee service shares was with a mining services company and the moment the options were exercised a tax event was triggered and the price on the day of exercise was used as the new share purchase price.
Previously it had been possible to use family trusts to avoid this and distribute this income but I don't believe that is possible anymore. We may see some more selling in the next window as a guess.
