armpits for two reasons 1. testosterone creams and gels is highly absorptive so risk of contamination with others is high - if they come in contact... think male - female contact... so not good if the missus starts growing a moustache!
2. i think ACR had research that showed the absorption was higher under the armpits
but you are right - you could technically put it anywhere...
