Great deal and an example of thinking outside the box IMO.
This looks similar to a streaming deal but with some slightly different characteristics.
It is also, IMO, very opportunistic as Glencore is still mired in debt and trying to rationalise their balance sheet. They need the cash and EVN is happy to provide it, effectively being paid back in lots and lots of gold.
Years ago I was very circumspect of JK's $2m salary package, especially relative to the other mid tier Aussie miners. However, you get what you pay for and now EVN is the second largest Aussie gold miner and still growing.
An excellent strategy that is being well executed.
