I agree, everybody whether they hold or not should be allowed to post on threads, but I can give the names of at least half a dozen posters off the top of my head that jump from stock to stock, delivering false negative opinions one after the other, sometimes up to 6 different stocks in half an hour, you only need to read the comments made by the mods on this very thread, some have the opinion of giving the poster with the negative view the "benefit of the doubt", is that bias?
Does that effect your opinion whilst moderating? Put simply it must, an unbiased view is paramount in these decisions, neutral ground is the essence of any judge/adjudicator.
In the end we need both sides of every discussion, but after the IPO, HC in my opinion needs to watch how it sets up this model they're now discussing, most posters are probably pro certain stocks, meaning a large percentage of posters are most likely going to be put off or move to another forum if not treated how they expect to be treated, not meaning they don't want to hear all views, but the views need to be fair minded.
Just reading this thread shows that many people are concerned with serial trolls etcetera, it's these posters who I believe need to be stamped out, if you get rid of them, people won't be so defensive when it comes to posters with genuine concerns over a company, let the bad eggs stay and we'll continue to have this antagonistic culture, it's in the interest of all, including the genuine negative posters, to get rid of the trouble makers.
Cheers.
