    leo, I didn't visit the web site, I base my opinions on what I see in local operations.
    Those who oppose such intensive farming operations, whether it's battery hens, or even the live sheep trade, are not interested in what normally happens, but seek out the exceptions and try and portray it as the norm to the ignorant and gullible. It is not uncommon for them to setup such photo opportunities if they can't find something terrible enough to suit their purposes. There has been a number of cases in the last couple of years where such activists have been charged with various offences incurred during such illegal and clandestine photo shoots.
    There are laws protecting the welfare of such animals and you can be sure that if things were as bad as some purport them to be, the RSPCA and other animal welfare offices would have the operators in court ASAP. It does happen occasionally, but there are always exceptions to the rule in any field.
