The word Goyim is actually the plural of Guy.
Goyim, if you look up any English translation of the Bible......means.................... Nations.
It is also taken that the connotation of "Nations" meanas .....gentiles....that is, people who are not Jewish.
We could call people .......gentiles, if that's who we are referring to.........however the Hebrew word meaning the same is................ Goyim.
The same way someone might call me a Jew.....I may respond................he's a goy.
The difference is that usually when someone makes a reference to my religion it's usually in a derogatory sense whereas if we say someone is a Goy we are simply making a statement that he is not Jewish.....................nothing else......no other connotation.............no derogatory slur.
Simply identifying in one word what he is not.......Jewish..
