Alexium International, the Greer-based wholly owned subsidiary of Alexium International Group of Perth, Australia, has announced business expansion bound to create more jobs for the growing chemical producer.

The company’s manufacturing center opened in Greer in 2011, expanded to more than 20 employees in 2014 and now hires 36.

Sales of Alexicool chemistry for bedding and apparel fabrics has begun to reach Asian, Middle Eastern and European markets as Alexium fulfills large-scale orders from two U.S. companies that manufacture adhesives and coatings, a market estimated at $42.5 billion globally.

“As the business continues to grow we will need to create new roles and expand in other areas,” said Alexium International CEO Nicholas Clark.

The company invested in inventories and expanded manufacturing and production capacity in the first half of 2016 as new business referred overseas by distribution partner iTextiles represented annual revenue of more than $1.7 million, with more to come, according to Alexium President Dirk Van Hyning.

Officials tout their environmentally friendly flame-retardant technologies as a performance-enhancing resource for adhesive manufacturing. Alexium’s applications reach camping gear, footwear, home furnishings and more.

Alexicool, Alexium’s phase change material, and a specialty flame-retardant formulation of Alexiflam for treatment of semi-durable cotton fabrics will soon reach new customers in workwear, tenting and transportation.

The company doubled its administrative space at Milestone Way off Pelham Road two years ago.

wonderful weekend - I see you have all been looking after the SP whilst I have been away

I also have been reading and noticed a couple of things - bar the obvious.

I noticed that sentiment is a tad on the low side - probably a bit more than on the low side really.

There are a couple of interesting things to note about that.

a. sentiment is always at it's peak at bottoms and tops - perhaps we should all remember that one.

b. you know things are bad when news is overlooked!

Well - mandp's post above - from what I can see was seriously overlooked.

Either people completely missed a large live elephant standing in front of them - or perhaps they just weren't game to write anything in the state of things.

Coincidence? -- Possibly.

But, if one has studied - one finds that 1. juxtaposition is rarely a coincidence and 2. of all the companies on the planet - this link and juxtaposition just happens to be LM.
