Trump didn't have to "bounce back" because he, personally was never in trouble, he had many other projects at the same time.

In classic RE style I imagine there are borrowing against these and there are investment partners so I'm not suggesting that he owns any 100%, but share investors spread their risk too. Because of this well spread risk, failure of the casinos was not a crippling blow.
