I am a solar installer and I bought my first GXY shares several years ago, knowing that battery storage was just around the corner... I was just a bit early...
At the end of this year, here in Australia, Power companies will no longer be paying the 60 and 20 cents/KWh export set by the previous government.
Customer with a decent system ( from 4 KW onward) and not at home during daytime to use their solar generation will have a choice of doing nothing and getting peanuts or invest in lithium battery storage( Tesla pwerwall, LG Chem,Samsung,Redback...)
This second market will be booming as soon as the price of the batteries drop.( Actual payback time 15 years/ warranty on batteries 10 years average)
Early adopters will spent money regardless on ROI, early adopters will follow and so on.
So , you may not be able to buy an EV but as a share holder if you have a solar system, why not investing in battery storage ( even a small one) and you 'll be part of the trent instead of sitting on the side line.
Bought another 30000 shares yesterday....I put my retirement money where my mouth is... 1.9 million shares so far and still smiling to the future.
