    mining news Perth-based soon-to-be nickel miner Western Areas closed at an all-time high for the second consecutive day as investor excitement intensified in the lead-up to first production from its Flying Fox operation, now said to be only days away.

    The stock hit an intraday high of $3.75 before closing at $3.64, a gain of 25c (7.4%) for the day.
