What about the BMW X3?

8sp vs 6sp gearbox
245/50R18s vs 235/60R18 tyres
5.4L vs 6.3L/100 avg fuel
2.0L 4cyl turbo vs 2.4L 4cyl twin turbo
8sec vs 9sec 0-100

Same towing capacity and puts the power down better. Has less torque at 400nm vs. 420nm but same towing capacity. Also better trade in value in the longer term but higher purchase price I guess. Also has DAB radio standard, also the sat nav system is generally better overall in the BMW, but that's subjective.

Otherwise maybe a GLA200 Merc? That is obviously FWD though so not sure that fits what you are after.
