Hmmm, I'm not convinced by your argument. The fact the it's not used in other devices says a lot. "Haven't bothered" or just "trying to be cheap" does not justify it
Isn't it true that if the wing/blade is not placed at 90degrees exactly, the lift force is reduced dramatically?
