Glycomics is arguably the missing link in biological research. DNA research has focus primarily on the proteins involved because it is has only 4 base pairs so is relatively simple. Arguably, the sugars in cells form far more complex molecules but they have been all but ignored because of the complexity, the study of glycomics(sugar based molecules) could fill in the blanks.
