The internal combustion engine is well over 100 years old, as is the lead/acid battery that starts it. The jet engine is 70 years old.

Technology changes much slower than you think. The only sphere of human endeavour that is changing rapidly is the computer and the entertainment it allows. Engineering progresses in measured steps.

Yes, the abacus, horse and cart and typewriter even older. You would off course be quite fond off these as well.
