how far back are we going? Do we start at recent times with with the likes of Belgium or Canada? Do we go back to Greece, China or Mesopotamia? I'd prefer to argue that regardless of whether people are born that way or not, or some society has traditionally done this or not, it's a choice to commit to someone else above all others that matters. As such I feel that not only the same legal rights should be afforded to the couple, but also the other intrinsic benefits should flow as well (social standards, rites and ceremonies, basic acceptance of lifestyle)
