What I was getting at is that the number of vaginas and the attached uterus is the rate limiting step.
It doesn't matter whether the man inseminating is polygynous or monogamous.
The number of women is the same and their reproductive capacity is the same.
Therefore to say polygyny would automatically lead to a population explosion is patently nonsense.
