I'd imagine there must have been communication between EVM and Valentia and EVM would largely know the situation either way (not that we'll find out until we need to
One thing that baffles me is that the economics of this tech are so compelling.
To deliver clean base load (well predictable power close to demand curve)
This is very cheap !! (yes I said cheap) at $800 US million
and with the cost of capital so low it is even more compelling
- the US and others nations (Europe Japan) are printing $trillions FFS,
you'de think this would be a safe investment - even just for strategic security reasons
even if in a worst case scenario the towers only produce 50% of the stated rating they will still pay back the investment at a good rate of return - and remember bond are being bought at close to 0% return
(I believe in some cases negative rates )
purely just in investment terms it should be a no brainer
then add the Co2 benefit and No water and benefits to the trade account (no oil imports)
And it's simplicity is a big plus - investment prefers a "sausage machine" to anything complex or mysterious
So although in one sense that is all positive
- but in another sense it really makes you wonder WHY
(it raises some serious questions which I can't answer)
why this can't get over the line ???
I hope I haven't bored youbut I needed to rant
