Gavin Rezos on Patents

Because I was busy the last couple of days gathering all the helpful patent information from this group, I hadn’t had time earlier to look at the info that Orbits posted the other day.

The copies he posted were all moderated away or withdrawn in the big flame up but as he pointed out, they’re all publicly available online. They are exhibits to litigation pleadings in Susta v. Alexium, case no. 2014CP2305965 pending in Greenville County, SC.  Most of them are emails that are attached to various motions, particularly a 2/27/15 Plaintiff’s Opposition to Defendant’s Motion to Dismiss.

While they make for interesting reading on a host of topics, I’m not about to open up new issues on this board given the abuse I’ve experienced. However, before I leave this lovely forum, there was one email about patents that was just so perfect I couldn’t resist drawing it to the attention of the punters on here who think I was off base or dishonest to be focusing/obsessing on patents.  I even decided to start a new thread for this so nobody could say I disrupted another or was off topic.

The email is from Chairman Gavin Rezos to the COO of Alexium and it reads, in pertinent part, as follows:

The patents are essential for asset and business protection as well as attracting investment and licenses and in fact are the main asset underpinning value. [emphasis added]​

It seems we are well behind where we need to be on patents and so I require a weekly update. Patents can be a slow process but filings must be in for all products asap.​

So does it still seem odd that early in my research on Alexium I would be focusing heavily on the patents? Maybe one of you geniuses who understand this area so much better than Gavin should tell him to stop wasting company time and money on patents since you’re so sure they aren’t that important.
