Shorten says he has "counselled" Sam Dastyari that it was "unwise" to accept money from the Chinese company.
But imo, Shorten is either missing the point or is deliberately trying to misrepresent and down play the circumstances.
Sam Dastyari should NEVER HAVE ASKED the Chinese company to pay his expenses ... that's NEVER!
From a front bencher, a leader of high profile Senate probity committees and an erstwhile likely future Minister, this is an appalling and career ending lack of judgement imo.
