ASX 300 rebalance, page-10

I had a look at several of the additions on the ASX300 list. This time you needed Mcap of at least 355M the lowest I found was EQT. Currently DRM has an Mcap of 229 but It's shares fell from 1.23 to 0.74 in the last two months so a while ago it mcap would have been over 400 m.

So for SMN to be included in March 2017 its price would need to rise to about 3.55. Certainly not out of the question but a tough ask in six months.

About the effect of SMN share price if they are included in the ASX300. I do think that there will be and effect. I currently hold the stock privately, not enough but the money comes from my back pocket. When they are included as an ASX300 stock I can buy SMN through Members Direct in my AustSuper allocated pension account. I'll sell my private holdings (paying capital gains tax unless I can write it of against another specie losers) and buy more through members direct.It should be noted before I turned 60 I had a member direct account through my Austsuper Super account (it acted as a proxy SMSF but they kept the accounts for me).

I'm not sure how many of the big industry or commercial superfunds have the same option as the members direct option through AustSuper, but I suspect they are not Robinson Crusoe.

So I believe individuals within these funds will acculate shares in SMN if it comes to their attention.
