PROGRAM
European Gas Limited (“European Gas”) is pleased to announce the spudding of the Diebling St1 core well at the company’s 75% owned Lorraine Project in eastern France.
The Diebling St1 well is being drilled at a site 2.5 kilometres south west of the town of Diebling (see Figure 1). The planned Total Depth (“TD”) is 1500 metres and four major packets of coal are targeted to be intersected below 900 metres subsurface and net coal is expected to be in excess of 30 metres.
The Westphalien D coal bearing sequence is expected to be encountered at 900 metres where HQ core will be cut through to TD.
The principal target is Coal Bed Methane (“CBM”) within the Westphalien D sequence".
"Upon completion of the Diebling St1 well the rig will be demobilised. Appraisal drilling is planned to
commence in the first half of calendar 2007".
