re: lemur:atomimbicilicus::what the world thinks Well what a great revisionists explanation of WWII.

Everyone hail the Yanks, for allowing the Nazis to control 95% of Europe (still they don’t come), allow England to be reduced to rubble (still they don’t come) Millions of Jews Annihilated, (still they don’t come). Germans declare war on the U.S. 26 months after the war broke out, now they come. With friends/allies like this, who needs enemies? You wonder if the U.S. would of entered at all if the Germans weren’t so tactically challenged.

The fact remains that by the time the U.S. were forced to join the war, The Soviets were on the ascendency and the German forces were significantly reduced. Now tactically the U.S. did everything right. They entered on the winning side, limit their casualties by fighting an already depleted enemy, reap the riches and spoils of war (including taking the best intellectuals and scientists). They also exerted their sphere of influence on the region whilst limiting the Soviets. But they also allowed tens of millions to die by their inaction. To claim that Europe was liberated because of the U.S. involvement is an injustice to every European who fought bravely against the odds, against vastly superior forces numerically and technologically.

But I digress, lets imagine a modern day scenario, how would you feel if Indonesia or whoever invaded Australia, the war has caused millions of deaths, the enemy controls 95% of our country but our Ally, still they don’t come?

This is America’s capitalism; if there’s nothing in it for them they wont come.

Danger: It is a health hazard to be so close to bush, that you become his G-string.
