    re: lemur:atomimbicilicus::what the world thinks Would have to agree with Yak. If not for US involvement in Europe during WW2 to would have continued considerably longer and a definitive result would have been doubtful.

    Not getting involved in the early stages was more political.

    Letting Hitler and Stalin duke it out for while may have been deliberate but in any case the USSR got plenty of help with equipment from the Allies and the US.
